Journal of Geophysics

Journal of Geophysics is a merit-only publication that adheres to the following standards.

  • Demonstration papers must contain a solid (based on real data) proof of the proposed contribution.
  • Theory papers may include derivation of fundamental equations or a new law (or disproof of a commonly accepted law), discovery of a novel procedure or principle, development of a new method, etc. We publish neither theories developed without (or ahead of) real-data analyses nor theories based in any part on either synthetic or experimental data. The maximum number of co-authors of strongly theoretical papers is three.
  • Experiment papers must neither claim nor imply to constitute a demonstration paper or a theory paper.
  • Submissions using file formats and typesetting styles that promote elitism in science, such as Tex/LaTex, are unacceptable.
  • Any form of manuscript organizing and styling is acceptable if applied consistently throughout the submission.
  • Figures must have a high enough resolution to enable their unambiguous reproduction in both electronic form and print. Black-and-white figures are preferred. While there is no extra charge for color figures, visual messages should be conveyed in color only where necessary.
  • Tables must be in an editable file format (preferably MS Excel) and embedded within the text.
  • Figures and Tables should be placed within the manuscript in their appropriate places.
  • The authors should check the scope of their article's main Subject Category before submitting.
  • The authors should read the Ethics and Misconduct Policy before submitting.
